How do app reviewers get notified about app review replies?

The app stores encourage developers to address user feedback by replying to app reviews. When you reply to an app review for iOS and Google play apps, it is the published in the relevant app store and the reviewer is notified by email and push notification (if enabled).

The Google Play notification email includes the app details, the review, the developer reply, as well as links to edit the review, contact the developer or report the developer reply to Google.

Google advises that not all reviews may be published in the app store. Reviews for early access or beta testing are not publicly published in the Google Play store. Reviewers can see if there review is publicly or privately published in their Google Play store app.
