Retired Large plans are being fully deprecated

All retired Large plan customers will be moved to current plans from June 15th, 2023.

Why are Large plans being updated?

In early 2022 Appbot made several changes to Large plans, which took effect for all new customers from that date onwards. The key changes were:

  • Introduced a 7 seat version of the Large plan, priced the same as the old 10 seat plans
  • Increased the pricing of the Large 10 seat and above plans by US$50/m for new customers. The price increase was the same whether customers were on monthly or annual billing.

This was the first pricing change to Large plans since they were introduced in 2018.

Customers who were already on a Large plan when these changes were made were not affected. We retired the old plans and allowed customers to remain on them as long as their subscription was continuously maintained. Most customers who are still on these retired plans have been on the same pricing for between 2 and 5 years now, depending on their initial purchase date.

We now need to pass on this price rise to bring all Large plan customers onto current pricing. This is to allow us to meet our increased cost of providing the service, with new features we regularly package in at no extra cost.

How do I know if my Large plan is affected by the change?

Head to the Plan, Billing & Invoices page in your Appbot account, and take a look at the name of your plan: retired large plan billing page

If you see “Retired” included in the name of your plan, as shown with the red arrow above, your plan will be affected. Click the black “Change My Plan” button to see all our current plan offerings, side-by-side with your existing plan.

What plan will I be moved to?

On June 15th 2023 all customers on a retired Large plan will be moved on to the equivalent current version of the Large plan.

The number of seats in your plan will not change, so if you are on a Large 10 seat (Retired) plan now, you will be move to the current Large 10 seat plan. Likewise if you are on a Large 20 seat (Retired) plan now, you will be move to the current Large 20 seat plan, and so forth.

Will the price I pay for my Appbot subscription change?

Yes. Unfortunately, after up to 5 years at this pricing, a price increase for retired Large plan users is unavoidable.

  • Large 10 seat (Retired) users currently pay US$149/m billed annually, or $199/m billed monthly. These users will move to the current Large 10 seat plan, priced at US$199 billed annually, or $249/m billed monthly.
  • Large 10 seat (Retired) + API users currently pay US$249/m billed annually, or $299/m billed monthly. These users will move to the current Large 10 seat + API plan, priced at US$299 billed annually, or $349/m billed monthly.

For all retired Large plans with more than 10 seats, you can see all details and pricing of all our current plans here, and you can change your subscription here in the lead-up to the transition date.

When will the price change take effect?

All affected customers will be moved onto the current Large plans on June 15th, and you will see the increased price reflected on the first invoice for your account that occurs after that date.

For customers on annual plans the first invoice you see at the new price could be months after the change takes place, but for all monthly customers you’ll see it reflected on your late June or early July invoice.

If you have any questions about the price change please feel free to reach out via our contact form.
